40. The Daily Routine

Now that we are 40 days into the trip, we have more or less developed a daily routine that changes slightly depending on how much we have to see and when everything opens. Here's what it looks like:

7 - Dad wakes up to begin shaving his head, and make mom coffee.

8:30 - The rest of the family wakes up and eats cornflakes. This is the universal cheap cereal.

8:30 - 12 - Arden, and Scarlet do homework. The rest of us pretend to be productive. I'm on my 4th book of the trip, Mom spends some time on buzzfeed, Dad updates his flickr account, and Brody does "lessons" on his nabi. Which is true if he is studying afternoon talk shows.

12 - 4/5 - Explore the city! Most of our apartments have been pretty centrally located. Our longest walks have been 40 minutes or so. What do we do on these walks? Learn a lot about each other that's what. Usually Mom is a few meters ahead of us - she claims we walk too slow - but today she hung back with me! We discussed the problems of the world. Today's main topic was healthcare. Now I know everything our government has screwed up, and exactly how to fix it all. If only everyone were as smart as Mom.
On a good day, Arden decides to walk with the family and the discussion shifts toward a) One Direction. b) Pinterest. c) What she's gonna do this summer with her friends. d) One Direction.
Lately, Scarlet has been spending all of her free time planning what we are going to do with Grandma and Grandpa durring our trip to Rome in May.
Brody is all about rock paper scissors, categories, and thumb wars. We even have a thumb war handshake that must be completed before each round.
Dad studies the maps and tries to pet all the dogs we pass.

Today was a walking tour day, we went down the Ramblas and Rick Steves told us all about the fountains, shops, old buildings, ruins, and some more Barcelona history! We enjoyed the walk down this pedestrian street and looked in all the tourist shops as well as taking any free food samples we could find.

At the harbor we took a little break. We're not the only ones enjoying nice weather and the water!

Shout out to all my Purduette friends spending their Spring Break in Florida!

Our last stop was the Maritime Museum we saw a lot of ships and also studied some of the old maps! Scarlet walked us through this map. It was all in Spanish, but she knew everything.

5 - 6 This is about the time it takes us to walk home between stops at the pastry shops, and getting the daily groceries at carfour, our new favorite grocery store.

6-7 Mom makes dinner and we all devour it within minutes. We start the meal with a Swedish prayer we have been trying to learn, but always add in a Camp T meal prayer just to make sure it counts.

7-10 Free time! This place has a chess set, so that's where most of our time goes. I also spend time blogging, brushing my hair, and stealing my siblings Nutella.

Now you know what we are doing at all times! Well 6 hours before you all.
