42. Bye Barcelona!

I think we have done everything there is to do in Barcelona. So our last day was a shopping/ exploring day! We aren't the only ones heading out tomorrow, though. After a week in Florida, my Theta pledge class is heading back to campus to keep their spot as #1 in grades and get back together with the rest of the house. The Purduettes aren't far behind them.

The ladies of the group went on a Rick Steve's walking tour, while the guys took a hike to Montjuic Castle. Before splitting up, we took a tour of one of the ships in the harbor. By tour I mean we walked around a small schooner and didn't actually learn anything about it. Mom got sea sick and I took a lot of pictures of ropes.

On our walk we passed a lot of cool statues and tried to guess whose work it was.

We have seen a lot of street performers. Painters, singers, violinists, gymnasts, and people who look like statues until you're a foot away from them and realize they're real. But these are the first dancers we have come across!

After sticking around for a couple of songs, we continued our Rick Steve's shopping walk. We soon lost track of where he was directing us and just went wherever we wanted. We all love going to stores and looking at all the goods we can't buy. I'm constantly thinking about how I can cram one more souvenir in my backpack, but mostly just stick to postcards. These hair extensions almost made the cut though.

I brought 2 pants, and 5 shirts on this trip. The girls brought about the same. And they're not what I would consider fashionable. I try to dress my outfits up with scarves, but there is no hiding the fact that I wear sweatpants or industrial travel pants every day. The material these travel pants are made of could also be used making parachutes, tents, and sails. Not really sure what it is, but it sure doesn't look like skinny jeans or any type of trendy pants. On these shopping days we spend time making mental notes on what we have to buy in the US and shamelessly taking selfies in the dressing rooms to show each other that yes, cute clothes do exist.

On the way home, we stopped by a pastry shop that we found a couple days ago and bought entirely too many sweets. But who wouldn't get 5 fartos for 1 euro?! In all, the shopping day was a success, no one got mad at anyone else, and no one got lost.
